Thanks for your interest in playing for Alpha Volleyball Academy! Information on openings for the 2024-2025 season and fall tryouts can be found below. 

FALL TRYOUTS

Sunday, November 3rd
13s & 14s: 1-2 p.m. (Check-in opens at 12:30 p.m.) 
15s & 18s: 2:30-3:30 p.m. (Check-in opens at 2 p.m.)

Location:
Holy Cross Lutheran - 600 N Greenwich Rd, Wichita, KS  

Openings:
13s: 2 openings (any position)
14s: 3 openings (pin or middle hitters)
15s: 2 openings (setter and libero/DS)
18s: 2 openings (pin or middle hitters)

Please note the tryout process begins in the summer leaving limited spots available come fall tryouts.

PRE-TRYOUT OPEN GYMS

We will be hosting two open gyms leading up to fall tryouts. Please note, athletes still competing with their school teams are not allowed to attend open gym. 

Sunday, Oct. 20th & Sunday, Oct. 27th
11-14s: 4 PM - 5:30 PM
15-18s: 5:30 PM - 7 PM

$10/ Non-AVA, $5/ AVA
*Open gyms are athlete-facilitated with coach supervision.

More About Tryouts

AVA holds both Summer and Fall tryouts annually. These tryouts are open to players with any club background as well as newcomers to club volleyball, provided they haven't already committed elsewhere. We invite everyone to this opportunity to meet the Director and coaches and gain experience in the tryout process.

Our commitment to high-quality training and play is reflected in our careful team placements of players and coaches each season.

We value fairness and transparency, encouraging players to select a club that suits them and their families best. Your individual progress throughout the season can be greatly influenced by your comfort and confidence in your chosen club.

Players and parents are individually contacted within 1-3 days after tryouts with an offer for the team that AVA believes is the best fit.
 

To confirm the appropriate age group for your player, please click here. The age group is determined not only by birthdate but also by the grade they are in or will enter in the upcoming Fall.

For ANY club tryout in our region, all players must be registered through HOA. Please bring a copy of the HOA membership card to tryouts or display it on your phone during check-in.

TRYOUTS FEE: $10/PLAYER AT THE DOOR (CASH, VENMO, OR CHECK)
 

Important KSHAA and HOA Rules:

• Only 4 players per school squad are allowed per club team (A, B, C, Freshman, JV, and Varsity are separate squads, even from the same school). For example, if a player plays on the B squad but also played even 1 play on the court in an A game, they are counted on both B & A squads.

Rules regarding offers, acceptances, and tryouts can be found here. These are crucial for anyone participating in tryouts. Take your time; you're not obligated to accept an offer immediately. Explore your options to find the best fit for your athlete and make a well-informed decision. Be transparent and open.
